Role at a Glance:

• Provide one-on-one and small group lessons to address the unique needs of ELL students.
• Partner with classroom teachers to support English language development across all subject areas.
• Create and maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe learning atmosphere where all students can thrive.
• Regularly evaluate student progress and adjust instructional strategies to ensure continuous language development.
• Establish and maintain clear expectations for student behavior to promote a secure and effective learning environment.
• Develop and execute instructional plans for English Language Learners (ELL), ensuring they meet both school and state guidelines.

Requirements

All candidates must hold a valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an ESL endorsement and have experience as an ESL teacher or in a related instructional role. A strong background in working with students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds is essential. A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required, while a master's degree in TESOL or a related field is highly preferred.
