Job Description

Executive Director Specialist Senior Living Description Proven, solution-minded leader and change agent with entrepreneurial spirit responsible for creating and executing a strategic turnaround business plan, in partnership with the district team, to grow revenue and to materially impact sales and profitability and for developing the local team to become the preferred senior living community in the market. The expectations for this position are that the community will see a material impact on sales and profitability. The leader is responsible for the community's daily operations, associate relations, resident and resident family engagement and connection, financial performance, and regulatory compliance. Works with sales to drive sales results and foster a strong sales performance culture. Creates an inclusive community culture that provides high-quality resident experiences and care and engages residents, families, and associates. Responsibilities include: Managing all operations within the community, interacting with staff and residents, prospects, or their family members as necessary. Assessing the local market and developing and implementing a turnaround business plan to become the highest performing senior living community in the area. Creating, analyzing, and executing annual operating and capital budgets and holding department leaders accountable for department budgets. Managing community performance against turnaround goals; setting and continuously assessing plans to improve performance to company service and financial standards, including adjusting plans as needed in discussion with district leadership. Partnering with the District Director of Sales to provide strategy, support, and vision to achieve sales and occupancy goals through effective business development efforts in the market. Engaging in business development activities and representing Brookdale as the leader in Senior Living to all referral sources. Driving sales and marketing efforts in collaboration with the community sales leader to meet or exceed occupancy or revenue targets by assisting to develop new business, generate leads, and build strategic relationships. Building and maintaining strong working relationships with management team and encouraging teamwork and collaboration; cultivating an inclusive community culture. Supervising, directing, and motivating community management while empowering department leaders to supervise, direct, and motivate staff; ensuring department leaders proactively recognize and solve issues. Ensuring community maintains appropriate staffing levels to meet residents' needs and in accordance with legal requirements. Encouraging and supporting department leaders to attract, develop, engage, and retain associates according to company policies. Overseeing recruiting and onboarding processes, ensuring staff are trained and developed to meet residents' needs. Building high resident satisfaction and retention, maintaining positive resident relations, and being accessible to residents and families. Partnering with Resident Council and overseeing resident satisfaction surveys to improve resident experience and engagement. For assisted living or memory care communities, collaborating with clinical leaders to ensure care and services meet residents' needs. Demonstrating financial acumen by analyzing, developing, and executing budgets, and exploring revenue enhancement and expense reduction strategies. Building positive relationships with local influencers and professionals to raise community profile and representing the community to government agencies and community groups. Ensuring property standards, maintenance, and compliance with licenses and legal requirements. This description provides an overview of the responsibilities for the position and is not exhaustive.
