Location: Cape Girardeau, MO

We are excited to add a Hospice Chaplain to our team. We seek individuals who can enrich our patient-centric environment with their unique blend of empathy, compassion, and deep understanding of spiritual and emotional needs during the end-of-life journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides and maintains a record of direct spiritual care to patients and their families or caregivers.
  • Provides consultation, education, and support to the interdisciplinary group on spiritual care.
  • Provides funeral or memorial services for patients as requested.
  • Actively participates in quality assessment performance improvement teams and activities.
  • Communicates with community chaplains, spiritual counselors, and spiritual care volunteers to meet patient and family or caregiver needs.

Key Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited seminary or school of theology (BD, MDiv, or equivalent theological degree). Experience working with death, dying, and grief support is preferred.
  • Ability to work harmoniously as a member of an interdisciplinary group.
  • Comfort in an interfaith setting and respect for different lifestyles, cultures, beliefs, and values.
  • Strong community networking skills with clergy and congregations.
  • Commitment to the hospice philosophy of care.
  • Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or organization requirements and is in good working order.
