Job Description

School Receptionist - Middle School The Middle School Receptionist is the first point of contact in the building. The Front Desk/Reception area is often a hub of activity, especially at the beginning and end of the school day, and it is the first impression many visitors have of CGPS which makes it imperative to have a keen eye for detail, a welcoming and calm demeanor, and the ability to multitask. This is a full-time, 12-month position. The Receptionist reports to the Division Director.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Daily Arrivals: Receptionist should be fully aware of those entering and exiting the building, ensuring that students are being dropped off in an appropriate manner, minimizing distractions, etc. Daily Dismissals: Receptionist should be fully aware of those entering and exiting the building, ensuring that students who are self-dismissing are allowed to exit the building alone and all others have appropriate pick ups, etc. Greets all individuals entering the building respectfully and professionally, having them sign in and directing them appropriately Ensure all persons entering the building are either authorized with a school-issued ID or provided with a temporary ID card Answering phone calls in a pleasant, professional, and informed manner; providing information to the callers, screening/forwarding calls to the appropriate individuals Organize and maintain receptionist area including closet and keep inventory of supplies Present a professional and helpful demeanor to reflect the tone of the school Knowledge of Envoy, Ruvna, and Veracross systems Attentive to the needs of every student; remembering names and faces. Assist with attendance operations, tracks student tardiness, etc. Be knowledgeable in emergency protocols (fire drills, lockdowns, etc.) Provide assistance to faculty and staff during emergencies Assist in the delivery and distribution of all mail/parcels that arrive at the middle school Handles basic clerical tasks such as filing, typing, data entry, photocopying, making labels, mailings (sorting, stamping mail accordingly); depending on the needs of the school, this administrative work may include work from other divisions/departments Provides support for divisional event preparation, including creation of nametags, mailing campaigns, etc. Reserves and coordinates buses for divisional field trips Additional duties as assigned by the Divisional Director or Head of School

QUALIFICATIONS:

Excellent technology skills, including experience with Google Workspace, (Veracross experience a plus) Ability to learn new software quickly, attentive to detail, accurate, data-oriented; Exercises good judgment and works well in a fast paced environment Excellent interpersonal skills and enthusiasm for interacting with the School's diverse constituencies Great attention to detail, with student safety at the forefront Dependable with respect to confidentiality and policies All receptionists shall be trained in First Aid/CPR/AED at a minimum of every two years and a preference of every summer

WORK HOURS:

45 hours a week (includes 5 hours of overtime), weekend hours may be needed Shifts are generally 7am-4pm, schedule modifications may be made according to school needs OT eligible, salaried non-exempt

The salary range is $25-$35 an hour.
