Responsibilities

Heritage Chaplains work with company nurses, social workers, and therapists to provide patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals with needed care and information. The Chaplain is a point of contact for all spiritual needs in patient care. The Chaplain follows agency, state, and federal policies and procedures. The Chaplain reports to the administrator and attends meetings as required.

AAs must meet the following requirements:

  • Know about healthcare and EMRs/EHRs
  • A minimum of one year of home health and hospice experience is preferred but not required
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skill with computers, fax machines, and healthcare systems
  • General knowledge of computers and the ability to learn industry-specific software and documentation applications
  • Have a current CPR BLS certification
  • Accredidation by a chaplain organization is preferred but not required
  • An ecclesiastical endorsement is required
